Position Title: Student Worker - Federal Work Study
Pay Rate: $8.15/hour
Position Summary:

Library Student Assistant –
This position provides coverage for the library service desk; monitors the digital library space; answers and directs phone calls; applies critical thinking skills and good judgment to interpret questions received and determine appropriate response; answers directional questions; schedules student reference sessions with librarians; assists library users with basic computer skills questions; directs library users to appropriate college services; assists the librarians during library instruction sessions; maintains computerized and print statistical information and forms; assists librarians with various online maintenance tasks; and may handle special projects as assigned by supervisor.

Experience/Qualifications Requirements:

Must have strong customer service skills. Must have good personal communication skills. Must possess strong critical thinking and decision making skills. Must have good computer skills. Must have a functional understanding of various communication and social media platforms and software (ex: email and instant messaging). Must have a demonstrated working knowledge of the MS Office Suite, MyStarkState, and Blackboard. Familiarity with OhioLINK and/or previous library clerk/reception experience preferred but not required.

Work Schedule Summary:

Flexible – 15-20 hours per week. All hours of operation needed. Limited hours available between sessions.

Specific need: 9am-6pm Mondays through Thursdays. 9am-1pm on Fridays. Additional hours may be available.
