Position Information

Position Title: Student Worker - Non-Federal Work Study & Federal Work Study
Pay Rate: $8.15/hour
Position Summary:

The Help Desk Assistant is responsible for providing level I help desk support to faculty, students, and staff using the Online Zendesk Helpdesk software, and telephone etiquette.

Primary duties include responsibility for assisting users at the Help Desk counter and over the phone.

Other duties include preparing user documentation, maintaining help desk manuals and other duties as assigned.

Other duties include offering AV support, dispersing help aids, and assisting SSC staff with projects as needed.

The Help Desk Assistant is responsible for knowing and upholding the policies and procedures set by SSC.

Experience/Qualifications Requirements:

Enrollment in an ET/IT program or previous IT experience preferred.

Experience with multiple Windows computer systems (e.g. Windows 7 or 8) preferred.

Experience with Stark State standard applications (e.g. Microsoft Office ).

Experience with communication software and Internet applications (e.g. web browsers, Gmail, or Outlook Web Client mail program) preferred.

Excellent phone, communication, writing skills and the ability to work well with people.

Familiarity with any of the following: PC Troubleshooting, Blackboard, Office, networking preferred.

Previous clerical experience a plus.

Familiarity with multiple computer platforms, browsers, and operating systems is helpful (e.g. Windows7/Safari/Chrome/FireFox) a plus.

Work Schedule Summary:

Schedule is flexible for up to 5-10 hrs could possibly go to 20 hrs a week.

Help Desk Hours:
Mon. – Thurs. 7:30 a.m.- 9:00 p.m.
Fri. – 7:30 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.
Sat. – 8:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.

Work Hours: Mon. - Thurs. 7:30 a.m.- 9:00p.m., Fri. - 7:30 a.m. - 4:00 p.m., Sat. - 8:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m.
