Position Summary:

The Student Success Coach will provide individualized attention to students throughout their college career addressing barriers to program retention and completion. Coaching will include a comprehensive intake and carer exploration process to ensure students choose pathways compatible with their aptitudes and interests. The College will also provide intrusive, holistic advising services essential for students lacking college experience and academic skills for college-level courses. The coach will help students create action plans to address academic and non-academic barriers such as time management and financial issues.

Education Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in a career field related to Industrial Technology, social work, education.

Experience/Qualifications Requirements:

Requires a minimum of four years of experience in one or more of the following areas: teaching experience in field related to division, career advising, academic advising, and counseling. Familiarity with success coaching a plus. Requires strong advising skills, preferably in higher education, which include developing individualized academic plans, applying for financial aid and scholarships, and counseling (academic and career). Requires knowledge of specific needs of under-served populations and the ability to work with students with identified risk factors for academic success. Requires knowledge of range of factors impacting student success; Requires strong interpersonal and communication skills; effective problem-solving skills, proficiency with Microsoft Office and social media; strong presentation and facilitation skills.

Master’s degree in counseling or college student personnel preferred.
